Have you exhibited with [5]art in the past?

If you have, please send us a high res images of the work (1 or 2) you showed with us. We are working on a color catalogue of past events and we want to include as many works as possible!

Don't forget to include all of the important tag info. This make things much easier for us. We want to make sure everyone is properly credited.

If you have been loyal attendee, we'd love to have your reception pics to include as well. We'll credit you for those as well, if you'd like.

[5]art invites you to submit artwork for consideration in this year's all-media Black and White REDUCED exhitbion. This exhibition runs from Friday, December 11, 2009 through Monday, December 28, 2009 with an Opening Reception on Friday, December 11, 2009 from 7-10pm. Gallery hours are by appointment. Admission is free but donations are greatly appreciated. Select works will also be featured on the [5]art website, www.five-art.com and a Black &White Mini-Zine.

:: ENTRY INFORMATION ::

ELIGIBILITY: The exhibition is open to all artists, national and international, working in all BLACK AND WHITE media. All BLACK AND WHITE forms of painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, and digital/graphic art are eligible if priced at or below $250.

ENTRY FEE: There is non-refundable $10 entry fee for three digital image files; $5 for each additional file. Submit as many works as you wish. Make your check or money order in US funds, payable to five-art, inc. or use pay pal!

Gallery [5]art Presents:
GEORGE ANDERTON | Recent Works and ROBB FLADRY :: Opening Reception Friday November 6, 2009 7pm -10pm.

In the main gallery: [5]art presents GEORGE ANDERTON | Recent Works, a solo exhibition featuring new work from Tampa-based artist George Anderton. Anderton, a painter trained both in Budapest and in London and presently living in Tampa, re-assesses the everyday with a mixture of the abstract and the representational. This exhibition will debut at Gallery [5]art in West Tampa located in the Old Santaella Cigar Factory on the second floor-Suite 210. More on Anderton will soon to be posted at www.five-art.com

In the reception area for one night only: current work from Robb Fladry. Fladry holds a BFA in studio art from Austin Peay State University, and a MA in theatre from the same institution. Robb is currently a graduate teaching assistant at the University of South Florida where he is earning an MFA in studio art. More on Robb Fladry can be found at www.robbfladry.com

The [5]art Opening Reception for both exhibitions will be held on Friday November 7, 2009 from 7pm till 10pm at 1906 N . Armenia Ave. Suite 210 Tampa, FL 33607 with refreshments and light hors d'oeuvres including brew provided by Cigar City Brewing.
DJ Brian Oblivion spins at 7pm.
The event is free and open to the public but donations are greatly appreciated.

The exhibition in our main gallery runs through November 27th, 2009 with gallery hours by appointment. Classes and groups are encouraged and welcomed.

SLEEP OF REASON

CINEMA SERIES

Sleep of Reason Cinema Series was begun in 1994 by Artist/Curator Brian Taylor to provide a contemporary venue for a delirious brand of cinema which originated in Europe in the 60’s and 70’s and which includes Gothic Horror, Pulp Italian crime dramas generically known as “Giallo”, Zombie and Cannibal films, and a whole host of other uncanny and transgressive arthouse and grindhou

se endeavors which defy proper description. The series has now re-emerged as a monthly series plus special events at Gallery [5]art in west Tampa and is curated by Brian Taylor and photographer Bradley Paul Valentine.

LIQUID SKY

Invisible aliens in a tiny flying saucer come to Earth looking for heroin. They land on top of a New York apartment inhabited by a drug dealer and her female, androgynous, bisexual nymphomaniac lover, a fashion model.

MS 45
A shy and mute seamstress goes insane after being attacked twice in one day, in which she takes to the streets of New York after dark and randomly kills men with a .45 caliber gun.

[5]art dog as been under-glass at the taco table for some time now. He has had his trusty companion [5]art cat by his side for months. Most of us know how they got there. Here is what they look like:

Recently they were joined by [5]art ostrich, bunny, elephant and turtle. Their creator is a mystery, but we love them. Where did they come from? Anyone? Thanks Mystery-Animal-Maker!

October isn't even here yet and it's already getting crazy. There's a lot going on and it can be over whelming, so let's break it down:

#1 On Friday October 2nd at the Gallery, [5]art presents: cumbas:echeverry:torres and 5by5 a fundraiser featuring affordable small works on paper. 7pm -10pm.

In the main gallery : [5]art presents cumbas:echeverry:torres a three-person exhibition Featuring recent works from Tampa-based artists Edgar Sanchez Cumbas, Satiago Echeverry and Alex Torres. This exhibition will debut at Gallery [5]art in West Tampa located in the Old Santaella Cigar Factory on the second floor-Suite 210.

In the reception area for one night only: 5by5 a fundraiser featuring small works on paper for under $20. Pick-up pieces from some of your favorite Tampa standards including Allen Hampton, Rebecca Skelton, Tyler Jopek, April Childers, Jenyffer Moreno, Justin Nelson, Mark Martinez, Stephanie Rivera, Kurt Piazza, Joe Griffith, Kym O'Donnell and more.

#2 On Saturday October 3rd at the Cuban Club in Ybor City [5]art presents: A Tampa-based feature film, Goodbye Victoria, will premiere at the Cuban Club in Ybor City on October 3rd at 6:00pm, hosted by [5]art. The film will also screen at Chashama Film Festival in Manhattan later in the month, screen at Gallery 25 in Fresno, CA in January 2010, and then go on to other venues. Directed by Diran Lyons and Matthew Potter, much of the film was shot in downtown Tampa, Ybor City, and other recognizable bay area locations.

Also taking place that evening, just prior to the premiere of the film at the Cuban Club, the Sleep of Reason Cinema Series will present a film short. In the Cuban Club lobby, [5]art will host a one-night exhibition featuring black and white poster prints. $5 at the door. The Cuban Club will have their bar open.

#3 Also on Saturday October 3rd at The Crowbar [5]art presents: The GOODBYE VICTORIA after-party featuring DJFuego, November Foxtrot Whiskey and Guests. [5]art will host a one-night exhibition featuring additional black and white poster prints. $5 at the door.

AND DON"T FORGET Sleep of Reason Cinema Series at the gallery on the 8th.
